Privacy Policy

Tinker Cubs ("we", "us") sells early-learning activity kits and workbooks for children. This policy explains what information we collect when you browse or buy from us, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Order details, name, email, phone, billing and shipping address, and the items you bought. Needed to take payment and deliver your parcel.
- Account details, name, email and a securely hashed password if you create an account.
- Marketing preferences, your email address if you subscribe to our updates.
- Reviews, the first name, city, rating and review text you choose to publish.
- Essential data, your cart contents and, if you sign in, a secure sign-in cookie and your saved name, email and phone so checkout can be filled in for you. These are needed for the shop to work and are kept whatever you choose on the cookie banner.
- Analytics data (Google Analytics 4), only if you choose "Sounds good" on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics from Google. It records pages visited, device and browser type, the link or campaign that brought you, and shop actions such as adding to cart and ordering. It sets the
_gacookie and related_ga_*cookies (for example_ga_ABC123) to tell visits apart. - Our visitor log, also only with "Sounds good", we keep our own record of the same kind of page and shop activity, stored with a random visit ID in your browser. If you are signed in, we also store a one-way hash of your email (a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into your email) as a visitor ID, so we can connect your visits across devices without keeping your actual email in our analytics records.
- Advertising data (Meta Pixel), only if you choose "Sounds good", we load the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram). It records which pages and products you view, items added to cart, checkout starts and completed orders (order value, currency and product IDs), and sets the
_fbpand_fbccookies. Meta uses this to measure our ads and show relevant Tinker Cubs ads on Facebook and Instagram.
Your cookie choices
Google Analytics, our visitor log and the Meta Pixel stay off until you choose "Sounds good". If you choose "No thanks", or make no choice, none of them load and nothing is recorded. Your cart, sign-in and checkout work either way.
You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie choices" link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops all three straight away, deletes the _ga, _ga_*, _fbp and _fbc cookies we can reach on this site, and removes the visit ID and hashed email ID from your browser. Activity recorded before you withdrew stays in our records, and data Google and Meta already received is handled under their own privacy policies.
Payments
Checkout and payment processing are handled by Shopify and its payment partners. Card numbers never reach our servers, and we never store them.
Who we share it with
Only with the partners who help us run the shop: Shopify (store and checkout), payment gateways, courier partners for delivery, and our email tool for updates you asked for. We never sell your personal data.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep your cart and account session working. If you accept analytics in the banner, we also record anonymised page views, clicks, searches, cart actions, newsletter sign-ups and account events. You can decline analytics at any time; the banner will remember your choice.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Reviews stay published until you ask us to remove them. Analytics events are kept for up to 24 months and then automatically removed.
Children's privacy
Our products are for children, but our store is intended for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Write to admin@tinkercubs.com to access, correct or delete your data, or to unsubscribe from emails. You can also unsubscribe from the link in any marketing email.
