Our story
Tinker Cubs started with a simple question: what if learning materials were designed around the child, not the worksheet?
Because little children don’t sit down thinking, “Today, I shall practise my fine motor skills.”
They peel. They stick. They scribble. They make mistakes. They ask why? They do it again.
And somewhere in all that play, they’re learning. That’s the kind of learning we wanted to build for.

We’re the two slightly obsessive people behind Tinker Cubs. We spent a lot of time watching little hands: how they hold a pencil, where they lose interest, and which activities get a loud “Again!” and which ones get quietly abandoned.
Somewhere between classroom floors, teacher conversations, prototypes and “Wait, this isn’t working” moments, Tinker Cubs came to life.
Every kit has been thought about, questioned, tested and re-tested. Because if we wouldn’t happily put it in front of our own child, it doesn’t make the cut.
We spent time with teachers, parents and little learners, paying attention to the things that often get overlooked. How does a tiny hand hold a pencil? When does an activity become frustrating? Which one gets an excited “Again!” and which one gets quietly abandoned?
We took those observations back to the drawing board. Then we made things. Tested them. Changed them. Made them again. Because with little learners, the smallest details can make the biggest difference.
We start with a different question: how can we make them curious enough to want to explore? That question shapes everything we create, from the feel of a page under a little hand to the way an activity unfolds. Every detail has a purpose.
Tinker Cubs isn’t about perfect learning. It’s about giving children the freedom to try. There will be crooked lines, stickers in unexpected places, and plenty of “No, I want to do it myself!” Good. That’s childhood. That’s learning.
Not just looking at a page. Not just being told the answer. Doing: peeling a sticker and figuring out where it belongs, following a line with a little finger, building something, getting it wrong, trying again.
It’s to give them something worth doing.
We create playful, hands-on experiences that give children different ways to explore, experiment, create and discover.
Wrong answers. Crooked lines. Stickers in completely unexpected places. That’s part of the fun.
Because little hands have important work to do.
